Physical Description

The crown of this mail hood is a circular, slightly domed plate. It is pierced at the centre and attached to the mail by modern wire and some riveted links of rounded section. The hood falls to the shoulders and has rectangular extensions at the back and front. Over the face, the mail is cut into a deep V-shape flap and opening. The mail consists of flattened, riveted links that bear Arabic inscriptions, possibly Quranic.
