Acquired before 1859. Lent to the British Museum in 1914, returned 1954.

Physical Description

This coat is similar to XXVIA.68 but with plates of kabau horn. There are no plates on the front of the shoulders, this area being protected by mail alone. The plates are square, overlapping downwards in vertical rows tapering towards the waist and upwards to the waist from the bottom of the skirt. The mail, ornamental washers and hooks on the front plates are all of brass.

Dimensions: The height of the armour is 600 mm, the width under the arms is 380 mm. Weight: The weight of the armour including the stand is 8.45 kg.
