This vamplate probably belongs to an armour now in the MusÙe de l'ArmÙe, Paris. G.167.(or G166) This is one of a group of 4 similar tilt armours made for August I,Elector of Saxony.(two in Musee de L'Armee of Maximilian; one in Vienna of Archduke Ferdinand;one in Dresden of Elector August) NB the Dresden one is different. Their production being attributed to the armourer Hans Rosenberger.(or Sigismund Rosenburger, Sigismund Rockenburger, Sigismund Rogendorf.
