Physical Description

River find. Barrell-shaped, wooden grip with slightly raised steel tang on cone-shaped brass washer. Small kidney-shaped swelling at base of grip. Second kidney-shaped swelling and sectiom of grip now missing. Grip also cracked.

Straight single-edged blade, tapering to a spear point with reinforced tip. Outer face decorated with remains of etching below the guard, part of which includes a skull on hatched ground. Edge of blade badly corroded. Inner face inlaid with copper maker's mark
