Physical Description

The blade is of almost constant width, of slightly lenticular section with bevelled edges, that terminates in a blunt point. At the top it has a forte overlaid by a steel plate on each side that have tongues that extend down the blade. The blade is slotted into a round extension from the handle and held by two rivets, one of which is missing. The grip takes the form of a long facetted bar on which are three fluted knops, one forming the pommel, another above the blade and the third between the two hands. The grip is crudely cut with mouldings and ornamental bands.


Dimensions: The length of the blade is 795 mm, the overall length being 1502 mm. Weight: The weight of the sword is 2.45 kg.
