Acquired with the Renken Collection from Leeds Corporation in 1967.

Physical Description

The blade is long and single edged, narrowing below the hilt before widening and then tapering to a long needle point. There is brass inlay and engraving of sprays along most of the back edge. The hilt is partially of steel, formed in one with the blade, and of octagonal section. Above the steel it is of brass, partially pierced with tendrils. The pommel takes the form of a stylised animal head with a square muzzle and triangular ears hanging down on each side. Centred in the ears is a domed iron rivet. There is no cross or other guard, the hilt being an extension of the blade.
