Formerly in the Tower Collection, XV.77. Transferred to the BM in 1914. Returned to the Tower in 1954.

Physical Description

The curved blade is single edged becoming double edged and wider towards the tip. It has two fullers, one broad and one narrow. The langets are onion shaped. The quillons are short and stubby with a curved knuckle bow attached to the foward quillon. The pommel is a flat disc with a raised edge and large central boss terminating in a pierced button. The hilt is decorated with panels containing sprays of flowers and foliage on a gold ground framed with borders of silver.
