Provenance

Old Tower collection, probably Tower arsenal. First registered by Valuation Team, 1988 or 1989, when on loan to Guernsey Museums and Art Gallery (Loan L166), borrower's number: GMAG 821 A.

Physical Description

Steel bowl guard of with two incised lines and round rear quillon. Leather covered wooden grip that widens toward with pommel. Backpiece and integrated pommel riveted through grip and tang with rounded ears either side.
The blade has a short ricasso, is minimally curved, fullered on both sides to within the final portion where it becomes a flattened diamond section and acquires a false edge with the blade terminating in a spear point.
