Physical Description

Constructd of a musket lock fitted on to a long, curved plate designed to be bolted to the top upper edge of the cascabel of the gun, the pan being fitted with an extension to enable the priming to reach the vent (touch hole?). The jaw screw of the cock has forked arms to provide a sure grip for fingers. The inner side of the lockplate bears the name E. VOUT, the outer side of the bolt plate being incised B O. d.12 and the inner B T N; the letter T has another letter/number possibly O, incised over it while the N has been followed by another letter now illegible.
A lanyard lever is pivoted to the scear-screw
