Physical Description

Pistol butt hilt of nephrite carved with foliage and lotus flowers. On one side of the hilt are two cavities from which are missing part of the raised decoration. The blade is double edged with a central ridge, decorated with panels of interlaced strapwork in gold onlay.

The scabbard is of wood covered with crimson velvet, with a long locket and chape of silver gilt engraved with roccoco ornament.


Dimensions: The length of the blade is 344 mm, the overall length of the dagger being 479 mm, the length of the scabbard being 396 mm. Weight: The weight of the dagger is 0.494 kg, the weight of the scabbard being 0.208 kg.
