Physical Description

The weapon has a straight tubular shaft with a rounded butt above which is pierced a hole for a wrist loop. The central part of the shaft is chiselled with narrow sunken panels and conventional flower ornament in low relief in the centre and at either end. Below the head, and at the grip, there is the remains of koftgari decoration. The head is of six flanges of semi-eliptical outline with pierced and engraved scrolls at the base of each. The exposed edges are gilded. At the apex is a sherical button, originally gilded.
