Physical Description

Grip is of wood, with 8 deep grooves running its length, becoming bulbous towards the end and with a small, flower-shaped pommel cap.
Quillons are short, straight and spatualte, flaring outwards at the ends which are rounded off. Decorated with a simple raised linear pattern
The blade is straight and single edged, of triangualr section with a reenforced point. There remains evidence of etched decoration on the ricasso and blade, most of which has worn away. There is a partly worn date etched on the blade, '?62?' possible 1621. There is also an inscription along the back of the blade which is now illegible
