Physical Description

With a raised neck and medial keel terminating in a point at the waist, which dips down to the centre and has a very narrow flange. The neck and arm edges are inwardly turned. High at either arm is a mushroom headed stud for the shoulder straps.

Inscriptions and Marks

At the neck stamped M twice for the maker, helmeted A for the Armourers' Company of London, cross of St.George for the Commonwealth, a very small MM. At the left shoulder, a large circular mark. Painted inside, 29 in orange.
