Purchased 15 November 1985. From the Armoury at Littlecote House, ap.42. Said by Sir Seton Wills not to be indigenous to the Armoury.

Physical Description

With a raised neck and medial keel terminating in a point at the waist, which dips down to the centre and has a narrow flange. The arm and neck edges are inwardly turned. At either arm is a mushroom headed stud for fastening shoulder straps. At the right is a proof mark.


It is pierced at either shoulder and at the right side by the waist.

Inscriptions and Marks

At the neck, stamped M for the maker, and helmeted A for the Armourers' Company of London. Low at the right, a large indecipherable circular mark, double stamped.
