Physical Description

The body is made of four panels, each with a very deep, flaring skirt. The front edges are pierced with twenty-one eyelet holes at either side in which a single modern lace is threaded. The vertical edges of the skirt are bordered with white bias binding. The right front skirt has a rectangular cut-away at the top, and the remains of a cloth eye at the top which engaged an iron two-eyed hook sewn to the waist. At the neck is a low, standing collar, made of two pieces and fastened at the front with a cloth loop at the left and a cloth covered button at the right. Each sleeve is full length, and made of two pieces. At the front of each cuff is a short opening, with an eyelet hole at either side. The buff leather is stained bright yellow ochre.
