Physical Description

The lock is of type 5 design with a dog. It is held in place by 3 sidenails. The centre sidenail carries a ring. The stock is of the design especially associated with the Littlecote collection. There is a restored ramrod. There is a brass butt-plate which covers the upper 2 1/8 in. of the sole and extends 2 1/8 in. along the comb. There is some patching and resin repairs to the stock. The right hand side of the butt carries a dragon motif. There is a line of dot decoration across the stock behind the breech tang. The barrel is of round cross-section for its entire length and has a swamp muzzle. It is held in place by 2 pins. There is a notch backsight and there was a brass bead foresight that is now missing. There is a pair of incised lines around the barrel 1 1/2 in. from the muzzle and one incised line 1/16 in. from the muzzle
