Physical Description

The lock is held in place by 2 sidenails.


The stock is paddle-shaped. The ramrod has a sheet iron tip and may be original. There is a curved iron butt-plate and a sling-bar. There is a small wood patch to the ram-rod channel and the triggerguard is a restoration.


The barrel has an octagonal breech which extends for the first 9 1/2 in. of the barrel after which the barrel is of round cross-section. It is held in place by 2 pins, the rear of which doubles as a screw hoilding the side-bar in place. There is a 'V' backsight 5 3/8 in. from the breech and a brass blade foresight dove tailed across the muzzle
