Physical Description

The lock is of type 5 design with a dog. It is held in with 3 sidenails. The rear sidenail is restored and the middle one has a ring attached to it. The top jaw and screw are restored.


This carbine has been entirely restocked. There is a restored ramrod.


The barrel has a round cross-section for its entire length with a swamp muzzle. It is held in with one visible pin. There may be a second. There is an open V backsight and there was originally a bead foresight. There are 2 deeply incised lines around the barrel 1 1/2 in. from the muzzle. There is a single incised line adjacent to the muzzle
