Physical Description

The lock is of type 5 design with a pivot catch. It is held in place by 3 sidenails. The stock shape is typical of mid 17th century holster pistols. There is a ramrod that may be original. The butt has a wooden domed cap with an iron band. There is a panel of carved decoration behind the breech tang. The stock has been heavily repaired with resin and 11 3/4 in. of the fore-end has been restored. The barrel has an octagonal breech which extends for 6 1/2 in. where there is a baluster. After this the barrel is round with sideflats
