Physical Description

The lock is of French lock design. It is held in place by 2 sidenails. The lockplate is pierced for an additional, missing sidenail.


The stock is of mid 17th century holster pistol design with a wheellock form lock area. There is a ramrod that may be original and a nailed-on iron butt cap of almond shape. There is a repair to the right of the tang.


The barrel has an octagonal breech, which blends to round with side flats 8 in. from the breech. It remains of octagonal form on the underside. The barrel is held in place by 2 pins
