Physical Description

The lock is of type 1 with a dog. It is held in place by 3 sidenails. The stock is of convetnional mid 17th century holster pistol design. At the butt is a screwed on wooden dome and an iron band. The pistol has a ramrod which might be original. There is a raised panel of carving around the tang. The stock has been patched in places with wood and resin. The barrel has an octagonal breech which extends for 4 1/4 in. before blending the a 16 faceted section. This terminates at a baluster 5 3/4 in. from the breech, after which the barrel is round with sideflats until the muzzle. The barrel is held inplace by 2 pins
