Physical Description

Landsknecht type dagger with copper alloy hilt. The blade is straight, double edged and of strong, diamond section, tapering to a point. The quillons are of squared section, curve around to form an ovualr, S-shaped guard and with spherical terminals. The grip is also of diamond section, with a medial groove running the length of the grip on the front and back. Half way along the length of the grip is a raised ridge running. The grip flares out slightly into a crescent shaped pommel, arcing down towards the hand. Traces of gilding indicate that the grip was gilt.
