Acquired 1955. From the Schelt at Antwerp (typed invemtory).

Physical Description

The grip is of bone and gently tapers inwards towards the blade. The pommel cap is of iron with an engraved cross. The quillons are lobe-like and of horn. A large metal washer sits between the quillons and the blade, with two extensions running up a short length of the blade and terminating in simple animal heads. The blade is straight and single edged, with a triangular section and a slightly rounded back, which is decorated with two raised ribs just above the quillons. The metal is heavily patinated
