Physical Description

The mace is made with a large hollow onion shaped head that is divided into slightly convex panels by narrow raised ribs. At the apex is a brass button. The shaft has a simple moulding at the top and terminates in a rounded end. Like the head, the shaft is hollow and marked spirally for most of its length, having a short section with longitudinal striations below the head and two sections above the grip. There is a rectangular hole in the grip where a patch has dropped out.

Dimensions: The length of the head is 107 mm, it is 80 mm across and the overall length of the weapon is 700 mm. Weight: The weight of the mace is 1.16 kg.
