All-metal (silver) mameluke hilt (unmarked). Scabbard inscribed 'PRESENTED TO LIEUTENANT . COLONEL . D.M. LUMSDEN. C.B. BY THE N.C.O.s AND MEN OF LUMSDEN HORSE AS A TOKEN OF THEIR PERSONAL REGARD AND AS A MARK OF THEIR APPRECIATION OF HIS HIGH QUALITIES AS A COMMANDING OFFICER.'
