Purchased from Leeds City Council, 1967. Associated with the Renkin Collection, but originally from the collection of Mrs Meynell Ingram of Temple Newsam House, acquired about 1870

Physical Description

The backplate is etched overall, with a central cartouche containing the figure of Hercules struggle with the hydra. The tassets are formed of two lames etched with an armoured horseman.
