Provenance

Presented October 1958, from the collection of Major Ernest Ambler. The original owner of this pistol was George O'Brien Wyndham, 2nd Earl of Egremont, 1751-1837.

Physical Description

Although they incorporate his patent breeching (patented 1792) they still retain the accepted form of pan of the period before the more effective waterproof pan had been developed and retain the gold venting, as opposed to the platinum venting introduced by Manton in 1805
