Transferred from the Rotunda Museum of Artillery, Woolwich, 1978.

Physical Description

Experimental, made of three layers of leather, with a slight medial keel and a deep flange at the waist. It is decorated with small copper rivets borderinf the edges and is four parallel U-shaped arcs acroess the centre. The thick hessian lining survives. At either shoulder is a tab for the attachment of a backplate. At the chest are three proof marks. There is some damage to the inner layer of leather at the back.
