The based of the skull is bordered by 14 rivets of which 2 at either side retain modern cheekpiece leathers. At the rear is a plain plume holder. Modern restored cheekpieces are fitted. The gorget is formed of one piece front and rear, with a raised neck and a points at the centres of the lower edges. The main edges have plain inward turns with recessed borders. The plates are joined by a rivet at the left, and by a stud and keyhole slot at the right. At either side of the neck is a rivet hole where modern pauldron straps have been fitted. The breastplate has a low neck, a medial ridge and a point at the waist which has a wide flange. The main edges have plain inward turns bordered by single incised lines, but with recessed borders on the flange sides and tassets. At either side of the chest is a swivel hook and pierced stud for the shoulder straps. Joining the tassets to the flange are four hinged hasps permanently attached, rounded at top and pointed at the bottom. The tassets are of one piece construction, embossed to simulate five lames, and decorated with three rows of rivets ending in triangles at the bottoms. The surface is painted black. There is a suspension hole at the neck. The backplate has a low neck and a flange at the waist. The main edges have plain inward turns bordered by single incised lines. At either shoulder is a restored shoulder strap with modern scales and terminal. At either side is a restored waist strap and buckle. There are suspension holes at either arm, and at the neck.
