Transferred from the Rotunda Museum of Artillery, Woolwich,1978.

Physical Description

It has a raised neck, a medial ridge and a narrow flange at the waist. At either arm is a mushroom-headed stud for the shoulder straps. The neck and arm edges have plain inward turns. At the left of the ridge is a proof mark. The exterior is black from the hammer. Both shoulder corners are damaged, and there are two cut marks near the centre of the neck. Formerly painted black, cleaned in 1995 for possible display.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped at the neck with a W, helmeted A, crowned CR and Cross of St George. At the left shoulder is stamped MA 2203.
