Physical Description

It has a raised neck, a medial ridge and a narrow flange at the waist. At either arm is a mushroom-headed stud for the shoulder straps. The neck and arm edges have plain inward turns. At the right of the ridge is a proof mark. At either side is a belt hook. The exterior is black from the hammer. At the left of the neck is a crack, and the point of the right shoulder is damaged. The metal is laminating inside and at the right side.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped N for the maker, possibly a helmeted A, and a maltese cross low at the left. On the angle of the flange at the right is a large circular mark.
