Physical Description

The breastplate has medial keel terminating vestigial peascod, the waist dipping down at the centre, and a broad flange. The arm and neck edges have plain inwardly turned, and bordered by a single incised line. The flange has an inward turn. At either side of the chest is a swivel-hook inside a pierced stud for fastening the shoulder straps. At either side of the flange are pierced studs for the hasps for the tassets.

Stamped at the neck with a crowned IR, for the Arsenal of James II. Stamped at the left shoulder MA 2221.
