Physical Description

Short-waisted, medial keel terminating in a point, the lower edge flanged. The arm and neck edges are inwardly turned, and bordered by a single incised line. At either side of the chest is a swivel-hook inside a pierced stud for fastening the shoulder straps.

The tassets are permanently attached, and of one piece, embossed to simulate six lames. They are decorated with three vertical lines of rivets, ending in lozenges of four rivets on the lower lame.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped at the neck with a crowned IR and a recessed BK, the mark of the partnership of Rafe Boulter and Sylvester Keene. It has an indecipherable MA no., and is painted 16/9?.
