Physical Description

Short waisted, with a raised neck and a medial keel terminating in a point at the waist, which is level and has a flange. The arm and neck edges have plain inward turns, bordered by a single incised line forming a V at the centre of the neck. The flange edge is plain, bordered by a single incised line. At either side of the chest is a stud for fastening the shoulder straps. A flat iron belt-hook has been riveted at each side. There is a proof mark on the left. At either side of the flange are two filled rivet holes, presumably for studs for attachment of tassets. Formerly painted black, the paint removed probably in 1995, revealing a rough, russet exterior.
