Physical Description

The whole cover is mounted on a foundation of brown leather. The upper surface being covered with a bottle-green velvet, quilted in parallel rows on the seat with pouches that fit over the pommel and cantle. Around the edge, and on the front of the pommel pouch and rear of the cantle pouch, is elaborate foliate embroidery in silver thread. The outer edge is bound by a gold braid.
