Physical Description

The wooden hilt is of one piece, circular section and tapers slightly outwards towards the pommel. Lobes undercut and lacking a ferrule or washer where one would normally be found. Also missing is a pommel cap, which leaves the end of the tang protruding from the grip. The blade is stright, single edged and of triangular section.

Display label (War Gallery, case 18 - Agincourt case, atDecember 2002) dates it 'late 14th - early 15th century'.
The sheath could not be found in December 2002 (not on display in dagger and not identifiable in stores) and has probably been missing for some time (PJL, 13/12/02).
