Physical Description

Originally blued overall, the grip is of one piece chequred wood and has a lanyard loop attached. The inscriptions on the top strap are badly worn and almost illegible, To H. E. The Viceroy London & Calcutta can be identified. The maker Manton & Co, is surmised from other addresses in the collection, (see XII.3794). The barrel is engraved Decimal .577
