Physical Description

A flintlock rifle with an octagonal barrel. The foresight is brazed to the top flat near the muzzle, whilst the backsight is pierced and engraved with foliage and monsters in the Berain style, slipping over the barrel. The lock is unusually large, with a projection downwards following the line of the stock. The lockplate and cock are finely chiselled and engraved with foliage and grotesques in the Berain manner. The wood stock has a shoulder-butt and with a flat butt plate. The wrist of the stock is sharply curved. The mounts are steel, with the trigger guard indented for fingers and featuring chiselled finials. The stock is inlaid with some scrollwork along the fore-end. The steel nosecap is slightly chiselled at the front and back.
