Provenance

Old Tower Collection Formerly Class XXIV.1697, 1939-1972. Originally sold to Mr. H.C.W Hunter, together with a double 8 bore no.11358 in 1887. (H&H records). It was then sold again by Holland & Holland in 1897 to Ewart Grogan (H&H records).

Physical Description

Underlever action with 'leg-o'-mutton' back-action sidelocks. Each lockplate is engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND' and has border engraving only. The standing breech also is engraved with only border engraving. The tang of the standing breech extends back over the comb of the butt. A thumb safety is located on top of the small. The action and locks are case hardened. The tang of the trigger-guard is engraved with the serial number.
