This one of a set of Russian arms presented to the Tower Armouries by Nicholas I, in exchange for a similar set of British weapons, c. 1835.

Physical Description

With some similarity to XII.208, but of larger proportions. Lock engraved in abreviated cyrillic IZH. (Izhevsk) 1832. The butt-plate is stamped with the Imperial Eagle. An ivory tag inscribed 'Musquet of the Infantry' is attached to the rear sling-loop
