Physical Description

Designed to be quickly dismounted into three pieces; skeleton butt, barrel and lock. The Barrel hooks into a false breech and is retained by a loop with a spring catch. Octagonal breech engraved B a r t o n L o n d o n. No proof marks. The barrel-hook is pierced possible to secure a walking-stick handle. The lock, which is engraved B a r t o n , is fitted with a slide to close the end of the pan enabling the lock section to be carried primed in the pocket. An eye-guard is attached to the rear of the lockplate. The face of the steel is removable. Stock with short fore-end and skeleton butt detachable from the fore-part at the small.
