Physical Description

Stocked to eight inches of the muzzle, the barrel is retained by two bands, the upper band being double-strapped and of brass, and the lower band of iron. The lower band has the upper sling loop rivetted through a stud on its underside, and is secured by having the upper end of the sling bar screwed through a clamping pair of studs on its left side. The bar extends 9.25 inches back along the left side to be ancored at the rear by the rear lock screw. The two piece triggerguard has the bow and front finial of brass. The ramrod is a truncated cone type with a convex face.
