Scope and Content

['Notes, MSS of articles' deleted] Largely consists of much less structured notes, but similar in content to file I above. Mostly '30s rather than '20s. Includes a draft copy of a letter to S.J. Camp describing a visit to the Wartburg and indicating that, if Camp himself was not interested, he (JGM) might consider putting his name forward for the post of Keeper of the King's armour, vacant after the death of Oates, dated 6.x.28. Also a note from Lord Esher saying that he is not sure of the conditions of the post and a draft copy of a reply from JGM thanking him, dated 19.x.28. Also a draft copy of letter to Major Barnes commenting on the contents of the Cozens Smith scrapbook and the papers extracted from it. See I.283 and AR3/Mann Papers 3/1/1[end] Also a sketch of the arrangement of the Study at Pond Street, of the Henderson collection[end] See also a letter from Sydney C. Cockerell, from the Fitzwilliam Museum, dated 14 Feb., 1933, asking about a Mr. James Stewart Henderson of 1 Pond Street, Hampstead and Abbotsford, Hastings, who 'has died recently and has left us some arms and armour. Do you happen to know anything about him and his collections?' AR3/2b/1/Correspondence file 1933/4.
