However I made him pay 115 guineas for that little heel piece with spur which otherwise he would have had for L22.' Goes on to plan another meeting and discuss a joint article with Kelly on the work of Orazio Calino,

? 1927/7: Letter from C.R. Beard to 'My dear Mann', undated, on paper headed 'Charles R. Beard, Sissinghurst Castle, Nr. Cranbrook, Kent', but with handwritten address 9 Smith St., Chelsea: 'I had been down to the ancestral mansion with my fiancee, missing our connection at Paddock Wood and not arriving home 'till 10.30'. 'Have you seen the Radziwill stuff at Christies? It is very scrappy, but there are one or two interesting bits, including one of the under arms - I think - for the puffed sleeves bought by B.D. for the Metropolitan at the last sale....'
