Scope and Content

Detailed contemporary intelligence report on a raid in which by ten naval Zeppelins set out, of which eight reached British shores (who turned back). L35 & 36 'fled' on witnessing L34 shot down in flames at Hartlepool. Several locations in Yorkshire etc were bombed but damage was not significant. L21 reached the Potteries but 'fell victim at 6.42 am in daylight to the machines of the RNAS off Lowestoft.' Report on the activities of each Zepelin and the numbers of bombs dropped, casualties and damage, actions of AA guns, RFC and RNAS presented in tabular form. Map, which is dated 1917, tracks route of each Zepelin and a tipped-in Corrigenda slip was printed in January 1917 by Harrison & Sons (250 copies).
