Scope and Content

Detailed contemporary intelligence report on a raid by five Zeppelins, Nos. L11, 13, 14, 15 & 16, including reports of the course and activities of each, any bombs dropped and ensuing damage, retaliatory measures by AA gunners and the RFC. Numbers of bombs dropped, casualties and damage, actions of AA guns also presented in tabular form. Map, which is dated 1917, tracks route of each Zepelin. This was the first raid by more than one Zepelin and 'there seems to have been a very distinct tactical plan underlying the raid' which, alarmingly, penetrated to central London causing damage to the Woolwich Arsenal and various private & public premises including Lincoln's Inn Chapel and Gray's Inn Hall.
