Expenses of the Lieutenant of the Tower, Michaelmas Quarter.

1. 'A declaration of such summes of mony as are dewe to Sir John Peyton, knight, Lieutennte of her Maiesties Tower of London, the Gent. Porter and Yeomen Wayters there for one quarter for a year, viz. ffrom the ffeaste of St. Michaell Tharchangell 1598 untill the ffeast of the birth of our Lorde next followinge...' Listing the fees of the Lieutenant of the Tower and the wages of the Gentleman Porter and Yeomen Warders, listing them by name. Signed at the foot of the page by Sir John Peyton and G. Hunsdon, Ro. 'The demaundes of Sir John Peyton, knight, Lieutenante of the Tower of London ffor the dyettes and other chardges of certeyne prysoners in his custodye, for one whole quarter of a yeare, viz. from the ffeast of the birth of our Lorde next followinge..., dated 31 December 1598.' Listing each prisoner by name, giving the period for which he had been in Peyton's charge, the fixed weekly sum due for his keep, and any extra expenses incurred on his behalf. Signed at the foot of the page by Sir John Peyton as Lieutenant and the same members of the Council as above, with the addition of Nottingham
