Scope and Content
A warrant authorising an imprest of ú40 for the building of a gate and a drawbridge from the Tower to the Warf, Signed Jo. Berkeley and Duncombe, addressed to 'Collo. Wm. Legge, Lt. Generll. of his Mats Ordnance', authorising an imprest of ú40 to James Lloyd , Mason, for the 'makeing and workeing of a New gate in the Tower.' Dated 16 April, 1667, and based on a Royal Warrant, dated 21 March, 18 Ch. II, authorising the 'openinge the outward and inward Wall of the Tower on the Southside thereof and a Bridge and Gate to be made & placed there for the more convenient bringing in of Powder.'
