An incomplete war diary covering to the campaign in France and Belgium commencing with the embarkation from Southampton through desperate fighting in Belgium to Captain Few's capture near Poperinghe. Terse, but detailed account produced whilst interned of this period of fighting as viewed from Battalion and Company level,

Accompanied by a manuscript report by Captain R.M. Langham, who was at Division, heavily corrected, evidently his contribution to the account; a hand drawn map on tracing paper showing the 'Area Courtrai-Audenarde, May 12th - 23rd 1940'; a hand drawn may on paper showing the 'Area Cassel - Popperinghe - Merville to illustrate the period May 25-30'; a Stationary Office notebook, with three pages relating to the route from Mont des Cats to Dunkirk, together with a list of lost kit; and a copy of the Supplement to the London Gazette for the 10th October 1941 containing Lord Gort's despatches relating to this period.
