Scope and Content

An agreement whereby William de Chervile, of Reydon, gives two acres of land to Hugh de Reynns, son of Gilbert de Reynnes, of Worsted (Norfolk), as security for a loan of 18 shillings in silver (to be paid back in the hall at Worsted on the feast of St. Margaret, 20th July, 1282) and of a complete suit of armour to be returned in good condition (in tam bono status quo eam ab eo recepi) at Michaelmas, 29th September, 1282, in default of which Hugh de Reynns may keep the land according to the conditions of the charter of Robert de Reydone...
